チャーリー・ストラウリッジは、 生身の人間である演奏者の身体と感覚の振る舞いに焦点を置いた音楽を書 いており、 なかには限界まで聴覚を研ぎすませて演奏する作品も少なくない。 ストラウリッジ作品固有の曖 昧な設定は個々の演奏者の違いを映し出すことも可能である。作品はヨーロッパ、カナダ、オーストラリアで、 これまでにフェデリコ・コスタンツァとルチア・デリコ、アパートメント・ハウス、アンサンブル・サープラス、ザ・ クワイエット・ミュージック・アンサンブル、 ベアト・フラー指揮ディッソンアート、 メルボルン交響楽団などに 演奏された。英国王立音楽院作曲科にてジョナサン・コールの指導のもと修士課程を最優秀で修了。2013 年ドイツのシュロス・ソリチュード夏期アカデミー参加。

Charlie Sdraulig's music explores interaction that examines the roles of physicality and perception in human performance. This exploration often takes place at the threshold of audibility. The inherent ambiguity of this context may allow a particular expression of human individuality to emerge.
His music has been performed by Federico Costanza and Lucia D'Errico at the Contemporanea Festival in Udine (Italy), Ensemble Platypus at the Wiener Konzerthaus (Austria), Apartment House at King's Place (UK), Ensemble SurPlus at Schloss Solitude (Germany), the Quiet Music Ensemble at Sonic Vigil 7 in Cork (Ireland), Duo H|A (Australia/Netherlands), the Shoals Duo (UK/Italy), the Mercury Quartet (UK), the dissonArt ensemble conducted by Beat Furrer at Music Village 2011 in Agios Lavrendios, Mount Pelion (Greece), Heather Roche at IMOO in Ottawa (Canada) and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as part of the Cybec 21st Century Australian Composers Program for 2009–10 (Australia) amongst others.
He completed a Master of Music in Composition with Jonathan Cole at the Royal College of Music, London graduating with Distinction. This study was made possible by the generous support of the University of Melbourne Faculty of the VCA and Music Joyce McKenna scholarship. In August 2013 he was a fellow at the Schloss Solitude Summer Academy in Stuttgart, Germany.
